RURAL COTTAGE ALTZUSTE (ZEANURI)

From 9 to March 11, 2007
The Family break season began with a pleasant weekend in a cottage in Altzuste (Zeanuri).

On Friday we caught the bus at the association headquarters at 18:00, to begin the weekend.

Once we got to the house and split the rooms, we put on our pajamas and we began the 3 rd edition of Miss and Mr. Sleeper. M ª José the caregiver won the feminine prize and Oscar the masculine.

As is usual, half an hour before dinner group 2 (Cristina, Oscar y Andrés) were responsible to set the table. And then was the group 1 (Jorge, Juanjo and Jose Ramon) who had to clear the table This runs all weekend. In addition to putting and clearing the table they made their beds and mopped daily. With this we intend that they accept all the daily tasks as something standardized and not as something they are not capable of doing.

At 22:00 h, as usual, we saw a movie: Monster’s house. The values of the film speak of the value of friendship, the importance of working together to achieve a predetermined goal and courage…

SATURDAY
We woke up at 08:30 to have breakfast at 09:00. Afterwards we spent the morning with two attractive crafts. The first was to dye T-shirts by tying a few knots in the shirt and then immersed in warm salty water with blue dye. The result was impressive. Thanks to the knots, some interesting white patterns formed in a blue shirt. When we finished with the shirts we got down to work with plastic clay. They made key chains and necklaces. First they shaped the dough and then baked it for 15 minutes.

OBJECTIVE:
Both workshops are intended to encourage creativity and their fine motor skills. With this they feel they can perform almost any kind of manual labor.

After lunch at 14:00 and after cleaning was given one hour to rest and dress to go to eco-art museum. We got a pleasant walk to the bus stop while heading to the museum.

We had dinner at 21:30 and after. We played the game the goose PKU. A game similar to the traditional game of the goose, but consists of boxes in there to pass tests or get over tasks about PKU. They love it so we were playing it untill 0:00 José Ramón y Andrés won twice.

OBJECTIVE:
We intended to promote good group atmosphere, they lose their shame before others, enable their memories through the questions and reasonably promote competitiveness.

SUNDAY
On Sunday we had more time to sleep, the breakfast wasn´t till 10:00 AM. After the breakfast we had to fight with them in order to got their shower. we ended the previous day´s handicrafts. Then we had spare time to listen music and to sunbathe in the garden (It was such a wonderful day).

After lunch and rest for an hour we proceeded with the evaluations to know what they like and what not, and listen to the suggestions they make. The results showed that they like the whole lot and have a great time. Willingly accept the housework, and seem happy with the monitors. They rated the output with an outstanding .

At 17:00 h. we took the bus back down and once arrived at destination we said goodbye until the month of May. Let’s hope it will be as good as ever.

As a final note we would like to say that the harmony existing between the kids grows every day. Absolutely everyone feels integrated (to highlight the change warned Aitziber) and have fun together. There are no cliques and obviously has been created a strong bond between them.
