LAPURRIKETA FARMHOUSE

From 21 to September 23, 2007
We left at 6 pm towards Lapurriketa farmhouse to spend a new family break weekend. The trip took us an hour and since it was the third time we had gone there it was not necessary to show them the house so we settled in five minutes.

Once installed, as the weather was fine, we went outside to play basketball and paddles, until half past eight when group number one was responsible for setting the table for dinner. At nine o’clock we were all sitting and having our salad and tortillas. Then each one was responsible for collecting our own dishes.

At 10 pm we started the “Horror Weekend” of terror showing a film of the same genre. A childish scary movie called House. When we finished at midnight, we went to bed.

Saturday breakfast was scheduled at nine-thirty. After we faced the longest and more dificult craft we had done up to this moment: the construction of a hot air balloon. It was developed in three phases. In the first one we inflated balloons and covered them in plaster after sticking the base to a glass with tape. We let the plaster dry.

At noon we went to visit the animals. They had goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, a donkey, pigs, geese and so on. This year they have included a new pony called Tzibi. She was the new star of the stable making Charlotte the donkey jealous. In fact she was the favorite animal until the pony appeared. The kids fed the animals, helped Mikel whit the sheep, changed the animal´s water and so on.

Just in time, a quarter to two, group two was responsible for setting the table. At two o´clock we were all eating. After lunch we had an hour off to get some rest or to take a nap if needed.

At half past four we met at the workshop to undertake the second part of the craft. We were only able to decorate the plastic cups that will work as baskets because the paster did not dry. After chatting for a while, we decided to watch the first part of It, the second scary movie planned for the weekend. They loved it, and against all prediction, it didn´t scare them. When it finished we played the game of the goose PKU. It is similar to the traditional game of the goose, but consisting on squares where they had to pass tests or get over tasks about PKU. They loved it. By the way, Juanjo won, as usual.

That night we decided to dine at eight and a half in order to have enough time to watch the second part of the film and also to go to the disco (a large room with a stereo and and all kind of lights). Group one was responsible for setting the table. At nine o’clock we had finished dinner and we were watching the second part of the film by nine-thirty. When we finished, we went to the disco. But this would be an evening they will not expect. We left in the disco a written note that if we did not follow its instructions, we would all die. It was therefore a treasure hunt. A track led them to the other through the house and grounds of the farm. We must add that Juanjo and Andrés were aware of the game and helped us by showing that they had disappeared. First it was Andrés, later Juanjo finally a monitor disappeared. The missing went down ther ground to hide and watched the search from the darkness that gave us protection. Everything ended when we ran toward them in a final scare.

The next day we had a late breakfast a because the late time we all went to bed the previous day. After breakfast we undertake the second part of the craft, painting the plaster. It took a a long time but they did it diligently. When we finished we went out as the weather was sunny again (the day before came out grey and watery). At half past group one set the table. At two we ate salad and rice with vegetables.

At half past three we were reunited in the studio to finish the craft. We release the balloon under the plaster and attached to it the vessels, that we had painted previously, by making little holes in them to pass through a few threads to make it likeness of balloons.

At five o’clock the bus picked us up to an hour after we left the meeting point ending the weekend of family break.
