CASERÍO UGARTE EN GORDEXOLA

From the 16th to the 18th of November, 2007
FRIDAY 16

To begin the last Family break of 2007, we got in the bus at 18:00. We went to the Ugarte country house in the town of Gordexola.

This time the bus was more crowded than ever because new monitors were coming. They are Ane, Eneritz and Irati, and as the house was big enough, they came to watch and learn what we do in these breaks in order to substitute us after we stop on 2008.

Once in the house we settled and explained the rules of coexistance to the participants and the new monitors. Afterwards we started the first activity” singing. We sang the usual songs of our trips as shaker, the dairy cow, the noodles and many more. The goal was have a good time.

To make time before dinner we played the PKU game of the goose which has been without doubt the game of 2007.

After dinner and as usual on our trips, we saw a movie, this time it was the third part of Shreck. The objective of this activity is to maintain a routine and spend some quiet and fun time.

SATURDAY 17
After a good breakfast we started to make crepe paper balls to fill a Christmas tree in a cardboard used as garnish. As Christmas is near and there are Christmas decorations everywhere, we spent all of our our craftmanship workshops making Christmas decorations. The objective was to encourage creativity and show them that with a little patience they can do stuff they never thought they could do. We dedicated all morning making those Christmas Trees.

After lunch we took a walk and continued with the activities.

As the house had two kitchens we could not miss the opportunity to cook something simple to begin the afternoon. First, we made a special ice cream that we ate the following day and afterwards we made some truffles to take home. The purpose of this activity is noticing that they can cook by themselves.

After the afternoon snack we continued with the craft, this time with an activity that promotes patience and fine motor skills. We made necklaces and bracelets with pasta stars by frying the pasta and and then getting them into a special thread for necklaces. They really liked the result.

After a delicious dinner we spent the evening playing the PS2 Sing Star. The purpose of this evening was to leave aside all shame while having a good time all together, kids and monitors.

SUNDAY 17
We spent Sunday morning making our last Christmas craft. It was a Christmas card that they painted and decorated to their liking.

The rest of the day was spent playing in the house yard which was quite big.

At 5:00 pm we picked the bus wich dropped us at the association at 6:00pm.
