From the 6th to the 8th of June 2008
On the weekend of the 6th, 7th and 8th of June of 2008 we went to Ea, a nice coast village in Bizkaia. We spent the weekend in the Andutza country house, where besides some technical issues, we had a great time.

VIERNES 6
At 5:30pm we met at the association and went to Ea by minibus. We reached Ea at 7 pm- When we arrived to the country house, we found the electricians reparing the porch lights so once we settled we decided to take a walk to let them work. But that was a minor problem, they broke a pipe and there was no water in the house so we had to delay dinner for a while. So to make time we played to the game of the goose since they still like it because the questions and awards are always different.

After dinner we watched “The Simpsons, the film”. These cartoons are the favourites of most of the kids, so we knew they would love it.

On Saturday we had breakfast at 9:30 am and went on a field trip to EA. The house is about two kilometers from the town and we thought it could be a nice walk, so we decided to go by foot instead of going by bus. In Ea we visited the beach and went to the lookout where we could take some awesome pictures. At noon, it began to rain, so we went back.

That afternoon after a nap, we started the PKU – AD 2008 olympics. We made two teams and competed among them in different trials: sack races, carrying an egg in the spoon, walking with their feet tied, make towers with cards, up to 13 different events. We had a great time and we made them learn teamwork and fair competition.

After such an exercise, we had an afternoon snack. They sat all together and had a very nice chat among them, so we decided to grant them spare time until dinner so they could socialize. It is amazing to see how the group relation has evolved since the beginning of the breaks. At first they hardly ever spoke to each other, and now they really rally round. Before dinner we had a walk to take the trash (the containers where considerately far away).

After dinner, we surprised them by preparing a party with alcohol-free punch, confeti, masks, sparklers and of course, a lot of music. We had the Olympic medals ceremony during the party. Since they were having such a great time we decided to let then party until 1 am.

On the morning we did some craftsmanship, they do not really like it that much, but we think it is important because it helps them to learn to concentrate and realise they are able to make many things. When they begin any craftsmanship they think they are not going to be able to do them, but when they finish they are realise they can do it really well. We made a ground potato to which in a few days, hair will grow. It is vey simple, we fill ma stocking with dirt and grass sedes and after decorate it like a face (bottoms for the eyes, and sewed thread for the mouth). The one we did has grown a great amount of hair during these last days.

After we had a snack and lunch. After lunch we tidied up for it was time to go back to real live.
